Fabric behavior:
The hemp component makes the towel more absorbent and more resistant than pure cotton. When first used, it may feel slightly more structured than classic cotton: with washing, it progressively becomes softer without losing absorbency, in fact, it improves.

Care for your linen:
For those who love traditional Italian bath linen, the hemp towel is the contemporary way to revive a family tradition (hemp linens lasted for generations).

Before first use:Machine wash at 40°C to activate the sponge's absorbency.

Regular washing:

• Machine wash up to 40°C(60°C occasionally for sanitization)
• Moderate spin cycle
• No bleach(damages natural fibres)
• No fabric softener(reduces the absorbency of terry cloth)
• Gentle detergents, preferably organic

Drying:

• Prefer air drying, laying flat to avoid creases
• Tumble dry at low or mediumtemperature if absolutely necessary

Ironing:

• Generally not necessary; if desired, iron at mediumtemperature with steam

Storage:

• Store dry in a well-ventilated place
• Hemp is naturally resistant to mould, fungi and moths: fewer storage problems compared to other fibres

Note on durability:
The more you wash a hemp and cotton towel, the softer and more absorbent it becomes. This is normal: the fibre "opens up" with washing.

How is it different from a 100% cotton towel?

It is more durable and more absorbent, but initially slightly less soft than pure cotton. With washing, it achieves a softness comparable to cotton, while maintaining superior durability and absorbency. Hemp is also naturally more hygienic in humid environments.

Does it felt or become rough over time?

No, quite the opposite: hemp and cotton terry fabric becomes softer and more absorbent wash after wash. This is the main characteristic of this fiber.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin or children?

Yes, hemp is naturally hypoallergenic and cotton is a delicate fiber. The fabric is free from harsh chemical treatments. For particularly reactive skin, always do a first wash before use.

Can I machine wash it with the rest of my laundry?

Yes, up to 40°C with coordinated light or dark laundry. Avoid washing it with items that have zippers/velcro which could snag the terrycloth. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

How long does it last?

If treated correctly, a hemp and cotton towel lasts many years longer than an all-cotton one. Historically, hemp linens lasted generations; it is the most durable natural textile fiber.
