Hemp and Lime Panel - Thermal, Acoustic and Dehumidifying Insulation Board

Unique Multifunctional Hemp and Lime Panel | 41dB Acoustic Insulation in Just 2.5 cm | Anti-Rising Damp | Active Dehumidification | Class B-s1 d0 | Healthy Natural Materials

The Hemp and Lime Panel is the only thermal, acoustic and dehumidifying insulation board made of hemp and natural lime, capable of solving humidity problems, and providing thermal and acoustic insulation in just 2.5 cm thickness.
Ideal for thin internal insulation systems, anti-rising damp cladding, partition walls, suspended ceilings, and dry partition walls.

Thanks to the natural hygroscopicity of hemp and the alkaline properties of lime, the Hemp and Lime Panel eliminates mold and condensation, protects from cold and heat, acoustically insulates rooms and purifies the air without occupying valuable space.

Perfect for renovations, insulation, dehumidification and remediation where thickness is limited but performance is non-negotiable.

What is the LHP Panel used for?

The LHP Panel is a multifunctional panel that simultaneously solves multiple problems:

1. Dehumidification and anti-moisture:
Main application for damp walls with rising damp, condensation, and mold issues. Hemp absorbs excess moisture and releases it gradually, while alkaline lime prevents mold formation.

2. Thermal insulation:
With thermal conductivity λ 0.07 W/(mK), it offers effective insulation while occupying minimal space (2.5 cm). Ideal for internal insulation where surface area cannot be sacrificed.

3. Acoustic insulation:
With 41 dB of acoustic reduction, it is the best solution for those seeking maximum soundproofing performance in minimum thickness.

4. Indoor air sanitization:
Natural materials (hemp + lime) improve air quality, release no harmful substances, and naturally regulate humidity.

In summary: one product to solve moisture, thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, and indoor wellbeing.

How is the LHP Panel installed?

The LHP Panel is installed using two different techniques:

TECHNIQUE 1: GLUED TO MASONRY
For anti-moisture cladding and internal insulation.

1. Prepare the surface (clean, consistent, grease-free)
2. Apply RasaeIncolla adhesive with notched trowel to the wall
3. Spread a thin uniform layer on the LHP panel
4. Glue to the wall with light pressure and tap with rubber mallet
5. Install from bottom to top with vertical joints offset by 25 mm
6. Seal pipes and junctions with polyurethane foam and sealing tape

TECHNIQUE 2: DRY INSTALLATION ON SUBSTRUCTURES
For partition walls, false ceilings, dividing walls.

1. Create substructure in wood or galvanized sheet metal
2. Fix LHP panels to the substructure
3. Pre-coupled version with fire-resistant board available for this application

After installation:
- Reinforced plastering with RASANTEper LHP and RETE KAP8 mesh (interiors) or RETE 330 (exteriors mandatory)
- Finishing with breathable products (silicate paints, clay coatings, lime plasters)

Does the LHP Panel really eliminate rising damp?

Yes, the LHP Panel is extremely effective against rising damp thanks to a natural mechanism:

How it works:

1. Active absorption:
Hemp has a porous structure capable of absorbing large amounts of moisture without becoming saturated or deteriorating.

2. Gradual release:
Absorbed moisture is slowly released into the environment when conditions allow, maintaining constant hygrometric balance.

3. Alkaline effect of lime:
Lime has a high pH that inhibits mold formation and neutralizes bacteria. Mold cannot develop in an alkaline environment.

4. Breathability:
Vapor resistance μ 4.5 m allows the wall to "breathe" without creating barriers that trap moisture.

Concrete result:
After applying LHP Panel to a damp wall:
- Visible elimination of moisture stains in 2-4 weeks
- Disappearance of mold odor
- Stabilization of indoor climate
- Permanent prevention of new formations

Important: If rising damp is very severe, complementary systems should always be evaluated (chemical wall cutting, perimeter drainage). The LHP Panel works best in synergy with remediation of the primary cause.

What is the difference between LHP Panel and Hemp Fiber Panels?

These are two completely different products for different applications:

LHP PANEL (Hemp and Lime Board):
- Composition: hemp + lime (rigid mineral material)
- Thickness: 2.5 cm fixed
- Density: 375-400 kg/m³
- Main application: anti-moisture cladding, internal insulation, partition walls
- Installation: glued to wall or fixed to substructure
- Primary function: dehumidification + exceptional acoustic insulation
- Acoustic reduction: 41 dB (best performance)
- Requires: final reinforced plastering

HEMP FIBER PANELS (Mattress):
- Composition: 85% hemp fiber + 15% recycled fibers
- Thicknesses: 4-5-6-8-10 cm
- Density: 40 kg/m³ (flexible) or 80 kg/m³ (semi-rigid)
- Main application: roof insulation, cavities, attics, partition walls, floors
- Installation: between structures, in cavities, non-walkable attics
- Primary function: thermal insulation (excellent summer phase shift)
- Conductivity: λ 0.0375-0.04 W/(mK) (better thermal insulation)
- Does not require plastering (covered by other layers)
- Can also be used outdoors (80 kg/m³ density for facade insulation)

Which to choose?

Moisture, mold, condensation problems → LHP Panel

Maximum acoustic insulation in minimal thickness → LHP Panel (41 dB in 2.5 cm)

Roof, attic, cavity insulation → Hemp Fiber Panels (more thickness = more insulation)

Internal insulation with limited space → LHP Panel

Maximum summer thermal phase shift → Hemp Fiber Panels (greater thicknesses)

Can the LHP Panel be used outdoors?

Yes, but with specific precautions:

The LHP Panel can be used in external insulation, but requires mandatory reinforced plastering with:

- High-resistance mesh RETE 330 (330g/m², 6.8×5.5 mm mesh)
- Double layer of RASANTEper LHP (first layer 5 mm + second layer 2-3 mm)
- External finish with breathable, highly water-repellent coatings (paste coatings, hydrophobized mineral coatings + siloxane paint)

IMPORTANT: For exteriors, prefer light colors to avoid excessive heat absorption under solar radiation.

Recommended outdoor applications:
- Internal insulation on north-facing walls
- Cladding on damp facades
- Internal insulation of perimeter walls

For external insulation on large surfaces: also consider 80 kg/m³ density Hemp Fiber Panels which are specifically designed for vertical external applications.

How much does the LHP Panel cost?

The cost varies based on:
- Quantity ordered (panels)
- Version (standard or pre-coupled with fire-resistant board)
- Delivery destination
- Complete system (panels + adhesive + plaster + mesh)
