How do you wash it? Can it be machine washed?

No, never machine wash. Hand wash only in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Cosmetic pouches are subject to stains from spilled products (foundation, eyeshadows): treat them immediatelywith a neutral cleaner on a cloth to prevent the stain from setting. Can the color change over time?
