Storage of raw yarn:
Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Hemp does not require special storage conditions.

Washing finished hemp fabrics:
Wash gently by hand or in a washing machine at a maximum of 30°C, on a delicate cycle. Use neutral detergents. Do not bleach. Hemp softens with each wash while maintaining its strength.

Drying:
Natural air drying, lay the fabric flat. Do not tumble dry. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Ironing:
Iron at medium temperature on slightly damp fabric for optimal results. Hemp tends to crease naturally with use.

Professional washing:
Professional wet cleaning is permitted for delicate or particularly valuable items.

Long-term maintenance:
Hemp improves with use: it progressively becomes softer and more comfortable while retaining its original strength. It does not require special treatments.

  • Is hemp yarn suitable for beginners?
Yes, hemp yarn is excellent for beginners. It has a slightly rougher texture than cotton initially, but it's easy to work with and very forgiving of mistakes thanks to its strength. It progressively softens with use and washing.
  • How does hemp yarn behave during weaving?
Hemp is a strong and stable fiber, ideal for both warp and weft. It doesn't break easily and maintains even tension on the loom. Initially, it may seem stiff, but with beating, it compacts well, creating a dense and durable fabric.
  • Can I dye hemp yarn at home?
Yes, hemp readily accepts natural and synthetic dyes for cellulosic fibers (like those for cotton). For optimal results, we recommend pre-mordanting. Hemp tends to produce softer, more natural shades compared to other fibers.
  • Is it possible to purchase quantities greater than 50g?
Yes, we offer bulk sales by kg for B2B supplies and professionals. Contact us for personalized quotes on large quantities, immediate availability, and dedicated commercial terms.
  • Do you offer custom dyeing services?
Yes, it's possible to dye any type of yarn in any color upon sending a physical sample of the desired color. A minimum order quantity is required, which will be communicated via email. Delivery time: 4-6 weeks from order confirmation. Contact us for more information.
  • What is the right count for my project?
It depends on the intended use: T10/1 - T10/3 (ø 0.395-0.684 mm) for embroidery, lace, delicate work. T10/4 - T10/6 (ø 0.790-0.968 mm) for medium weaving, crochet, fine macrame. T10/12 - T16/11 (ø 1.369 mm+) for sturdy macrame, decorative cords, structural projects. Contact us for specific advice.
  • Does hemp yarn soften?
Yes, it's a distinctive characteristic of hemp. Initially, the yarn has a rustic texture, but it progressively softens with each wash and use, becoming soft and comfortable without losing strength. It is highly valued precisely for this "improvement over time."
  • Can I blend hemp with other fibers?
Yes, hemp combines excellently with: cotton (softness + strength), linen (elegance + durability), silk (luster + robustness), wool (warmth + breathability). In weaving, it can be used pure or in blends.
  • How do I distinguish between different counts upon delivery?
Each spool is labeled with its count and color. The diameter is indicated in the product table. If you have any doubts about the count-diameter correspondence, contact us.
  • Are the colors wash-fast?
Yarns dyed with professional dyes maintain good wash fastness. Like all natural fibers, it's advisable to wash separately for the first few washes and avoid high temperatures. Natural colors (raw, ecru) do not present fastness issues.

Forniture B2B e partnership:
